River Ramble – June 2nd

Title: River Ramble – June 2nd
Description: Calling All Runners and Walkers for June 2, 2012

OFFICIAL REGISTRATION SITE: http://www.RSDeaf.org/Ramble

Whether you run it as fast as you can, gingerly jog it, speed-walk it or
leisurely stroll it, one and all are again invited to participate in the
4th annual Rochester School for the Deaf River Ramble. The classic 5K run,
2-mile walk and one-mile family fun walk event is set for Saturday, June 2.

New features of River Ramble this year include a newly-modified 5K route,
to avoid the narrow, congested stretch of path near the Veterans Memorial
Bridge. This is especially needed since River Ramble continues to attract
more serious runners. The new route is certified to be accurate by the
USATF #NY121108KL.

The first 200 registrants will receive a dri-fit, moisture-wicking River
Ramble t-shirt and tote bag. Post-race/walk activities include an awards
ceremony honoring all top runners and pledge raisers, games and activities
for children, live music by 8-Days-A-Week—a popular Beatles tribute band,
an assortment of refreshments and sponsor booths.

5K runners, team and individual walkers, family fun walkers, as well as
sponsors, donors and volunteers are encouraged to visit
http://www.RSDeaf.org/Ramble to register online or to download, print and
fill out the River Ramble registration form to send in with the
appropriate participation fee(s). Also on the River Ramble Web page are
links to set up participant fund raising Web pages, as well as links to
River Ramble social media channels.

“We’re so pleased to see that more and more families are participating in
the River Ramble,” says event chairwoman and RSD parent Mrs. Amy Williams.
“Thank you one and all for helping to support a school that we dearly
love.”
